MN Renissance Festival - 4.8 Miles

The MN Renissance Festival is set in the middle of the forest with huge permanent buildings that reside there year 'round.  Costumes/Street Clothes are about 50/50 for the visitors.  I love theatrical Minnesotans. =)

At the entrance to the Ren Fest.

Happy Fairy

My Happy Beer Fairies

Shortly after we arrived I saw this guy.  Smoking, suede shit kickers, and huge wings.  We saw him everywhere throughout the day, including being called on stage during one of the Rated R comedy shows.  Brilliant. =)

Pickle violence.  He is scooping his insides out with his own foot.  Now that's brutal.

Nice biceps.

Kate paid the mere price of $1 to have her pickle launched to the roof of that building over there.  It was quite the production.  First the guy had to warn everyone on the other side by yelling across the jousting field that a pickle would be incoming.

Then he launches the pickle on the bench with a sling shot and the fun begins.  He does hit the roof. =)

Then when he ran over there to get the pickle parts, another guy over there paid him $1 to launch another one when he returned to the pickle jar.  That is the value of entertainment... I think that having a pickle launched way over there is well worth $1.

Another area of the festival.

Hello.  I'd like to dunk a wench please.

Even that kid is amazed.
The ball wench says, "So what kind of man are you that it takes you 11 balls to get a lady wet?"

Amazingly we never dunk the wench.  However I do play Drunk Dunk the Wench and I take a drink of my beer for each ball that I missed - which was all of them.  I was feeling awesome after. =)

As we head to get some chicken and chips we see the crazy cat lady!  Don't fail to notice the cat blanket that is in the back of the stroller that looks like it might have been made from a photo of the cat in the stroller. =)

The guys with beers aren't even aware that they have stopped walking and are staring.  They are mesmerized by the cat lady's powers.

There is a huge drum dance in the center circle of the festival at the end of the day.  If the rain hasn't chased them away already, everyone is in the center circle dancing.

It was the final day of the State Fair too whereas the Ren Fest will continue on into October.
Even Death brought an umbrella.

Hope to see you next year MN Ren Fest. =)
